Our Commitment
Halifax Rainbow Dodgeball is a recreational, inclusive, and community-focused league. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all participants, regardless of skill level, identity, or background.
By participating in the league, all players agree to uphold the following standards of conduct.

1. Respect and Inclusion
- Treat all players, organizers, and volunteers with respect.
- Discrimination, harassment, or exclusion based on gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ability, or any other personal characteristic will not be tolerated.
- Be mindful that this is a community space—your actions impact others.

2. Consent and Personal Boundaries
- Consent is mandatory in all interactions.
- Any physical contact outside of normal gameplay must be clearly welcomed and appropriate.
- Unwanted touching, sexualized behaviour, or invasion of personal space is strictly prohibited.
- “Joking” or “playful” behaviour is not an excuse—impact matters more than intent.

3. Appropriate Behaviour On and Off the Court
- Maintain respectful behaviour at all league events, including games, practices, and social gatherings.
- Harassment, intimidation, or repeated unwanted attention—whether in person or online—will not be tolerated.
- Actions that bring discomfort or harm to others, even outside of official league time, may still be addressed if they affect the community.

4. Sportsmanship
- Play fairly and honestly.
- Respect referees, organizers, and game rules.
- Avoid aggressive, unsafe, or overly physical play.

5. Alcohol and Substance Use
- If alcohol is present at social events, participants are expected to act responsibly.
- Intoxication is not an excuse for inappropriate behaviour.

6. Reporting Concerns
- Players are encouraged to report any behaviour that makes them feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
- Reports can be made to the organizing team and will be handled as confidentially as possible.
- Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern will not be tolerated.

7. Enforcement and Consequences
Violations of this Code of Conduct will be taken seriously.
Depending on the severity and frequency of the behaviour, consequences may include:
- Verbal or written warnings
- Suspension from games or league activities
- Removal from the league without refund
The organizing team reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary to protect the safety and well-being of the community.
